Big Picture Vision
It’s no secret that times are tough—students are still catching up post-COVID, families are struggling, and public education is under threat by Donald Trump. But now isn’t the time to give up; it’s time to show up and be excellent. I’m Austin Edwards, a lifelong Trentonian, and I believe we can achieve excellence without overburdening teachers or shaming hardworking parents.
I’m running for School Board because I believe in ONE Trenton—united in purpose, driven by excellence.
For me, public service isn't about politics –
it's about making sure every Trentonian has the chance to thrive and attain a level of excellence inherent in all of us.
I'm Austin Edwards –
a lifelong Trentonian, community leader, and proud father – running to build an excellent education system and a more united Trenton. I serve as president of the Trenton and NAACP, sit on several community boards, and help lead local grant making through the “I am Trenton” foundation.
My journey – from growing up in a working class household to earn degrees in political science, law, and public policy – has fueled my passion for equity, education, and opportunity. I spent years serving in the New Jersey Attorney General's office, fighting fraud and pushing for accountability, and I bring that same dedication to my work on the Trenton School Board.
